Attractive Rovinj at Paduan fiera The tourist Rovinj presents itself to the Italians from May 17th-25th, at the oldest tourist fair in the country, sixth year in a row. It is the "Fiera Campionaria", frequented by more than 230 thousand visitors. Attracting attention in a kingdom of an abundance of alluring stands is no easy task. However, this time Rovinj presented itself in an original way: instead of the usual wooden counters, the Tourist Association’s stand was surrounded by fish crates, which conatained promotional material instead of pilchard. Billboards with gravelly, sun-bathed beaches called for the summer, and the true summer atmosphere was provided by recorded sounds of the murmur of the sea, seagulls’ crying and crickets’ song. A special place was occupied by a stone pine tree, which many visitors wanted for their garden. Such presentation, concieved by Željko Bunc, really attracted attention of the visitors. Beside the tourist beauties and capacities, Rovinj presented itself by its culinary, enological and music values. The “Batana” folk group provided an excellent music background, that “went down well” with Istrian prosciutto and cheese, white and red wines. Apart from TA director Darijo Činić, who greeted the Paduans
as the host, emphasizing that they are dear, numerous and welcome guests,
Croatian
consul for economy in Trieste, Gari Cappelli, also spoke highly
about
the beauties of the city below St. Euphemia. Marino Budicin, member
of the city government in charge of culture, reminded of the friendship
of many years between the two cities, pointing out that the Paduan
Design
School will be held again this year in Rovinj. The stand was also
visited by the representatives of this school, headed by the manager,
Giorgio
Pellizzaro, who once again did not fail to highlight the beauties
of Rovinj and the kindness of its inhabitants. text: N.O.Radić - Glas Istre
