20th International Sailing Regatta
Rovinj – Pesaro - Rovinj Has Started
Twenty sailing boats sponsored by the Tourist Association and the Town of Rovinj sailed on Thursday, April 29, 2004 from the aquatorium of Rovinj in direction of the Italian port Pesaro. A hundred participants sailing under the Slovene, Italian and Croatian
flags are taking part in this traditional, international regatta, which
is being held for the 20th time in a row. Provided that the conditions
are good and the wind favourable, the first sailing boats are expected
to reach the goal in Pesaro in the early morning hours on Friday. After
spending Saturday in Pesaro, the sailors will start their return voyage
to Rovinj at 5 pm on May 1. The organizers of this international cross-Adriatic
regatta which connects the two coasts of the Adriatic Sea in the length
of 76 miles, are the Sailing Club Maestral – Ronhill from Rovinj and
Lega Navale Italiana from Pesaro. |
