Rovinj Night, or rather, a series of Rovinj nights, which began this year on August 15, the Assumption Day (Vela Gospa), with the traditional Ronald Braus and Guests Concert, reached a climax 6 days/nights later with an excellent performance by the American rock band Creedence Clearwater Revived, and the 25-minute-long fireworks show which colored the sky with thousands of stars and cascades. .
Between these spectacular events, Rovinj was the host of many interesting happenings. The younger generation could, among other things, enjoy the all-night-long Radio Company program. Song and dance filled the main town square. The same atmosphere was repeated the evening before the Rovinj Night when the popular band Soul Fingers from Zagreb, and the Rovinj music band Dream Projekt came on the central stage.
The more demanding guests had an opportunity to enjoy the paintings and the opening of the new Maritime Collection at the Native Museum of the Town of Rovinj organized in honor of the 50 th anniversary of the founding of the Museum, and also in honor of the Rovinj Night.
The celebration of the touristiest night on the Northern Adriatic began in the early morning hours with the presentation of rewards to the most loyal guests of Rovinj. At noon, the best Istrian wine producers assembled at the Mateotti’s Square, and a sailing regatta took place in the town port.
At around 4:00 PM Rovinj citizen Sandi Mužina ran into the Delfin pool area after the 40-hour marathon. This is his 7 th marathon in honor of the Rovinj Night.
The entertainment program, which was taking place on five different stages across the town, began with the performance of the majorettes from Rovinj and Rijeka. Later, 20 different performers took turns on the stages across town, and managed to satisfy, with their versatile repertoire and performances, even the most demanding viewers.
The Roxy Band played at the Council of Europe Walkway (Šetalište vijeća Europe). The Istrian musical masters – the traditionally good Gustafi, ‘the funky’ Franci Blašković, The Beat Fleet, Kokumeri, Venus and Belfast Food from Rijeka – performed at the Big Pier (Veliki mol).
The Vladimir Nazor Coast (Obala Vladimira Nazora) was the venue for the performances of the Fair PlayBand, the Give me five band, and the Duo Domižana.
The Gnot Brothers Walkway (Šetalište braće Gnot) was the venue for the performance of the attractive Rovinj folk band Batana, and singer Sergio Preden Gat.

The central, and the biggest stage, was marked by the performances of Le Mond, Evica Čicek, Tony Cetinski, and the living rock legends – Creedence Clearwater Revived who reminded the audience of some of their greatest hits – Have You Ever Seen the Rain, I Put a Spell on You, Fortunate Son, Commotion, Jungle, as well as many other songs still enjoyed today.

As far as the fireworks show is concerned, the Tourist Association of Rovinj really did an outstanding job this year. The show was the longest and the most magnificent so far. Many guests sighed with joy, and those who watched the entire 25-minute-long show went home with a neck-ache.
