Gastro Fair—Delicacies of Istrian Gastronomy

Over seventy participants from Istria exhibited their regional authentic cuisine in the Taste of the Sea Fair, once again to prove that their food, baked goods and confectionery (sweets) can meet the standards of the world’s greatest culinary styles.
Rich taste, smell and visual sensations spread through the large congress hall of the Park Hotel. Due to the large number of exhibitors and visitors, unfortunately not everyone was able to present culinary “magic”.

Over eighty meals were exhibited during the Fair, including various cold and hot appetizers, indigenous delicacies, truffles and asparagus, seafood, potato and wheat pasta, traditionally baked lamb, chocolate, fruit cakes and numerous others sweet specialties.

Fruit, sliced and cut by culinary artists into interesting shapes, like watermelon flower-like blossoms or cantaloupe gold fish, complemented the fireworks and harmony of visual sensation.
