Last year in the city of Rovinj was founded Eco Museum of Batana. In this museum through picture and photography, video media, stories of fishermen and a documentary about the manner and the process of building the batana was paid the tribute to the native vessel of fishermen of Rovinj. These days yet another tribute was paid to this vessel via book of recipes «The House of Batana».
Sergio Ferrara claims that the majority of these recipes he inherited from his father who was a fisherman and spent his whole working life at the sea. There are, among other, recipe for cuttlefish black risotto, fried jellyfish, brodetto (fish stew), grilled crab, grilled mussels, cuttlefish salad and cooked small crabs (nanari). In this book particularly are interesting attractive photos of prepared dishes taken by photographer Damir Fabijanić, as well as described manner and the right time of catching «the main ingredient». This book is a cherished testimony of ancient times and diet of our ancestors, an exceptional gastronomic souvenir of tourism oriented Rovinj. |
