May Day Marked by Sports and Social Games
This year’s May Day festivities started with early-morning patriotic songs played by the members of the Town Brass Band. The patriotic songs were played in all town streets; the music was heard in the old town center and Bolničko naselje, reaching the village of Rovinjsko selo by 10 am.

The folk band called Batana gave a concert performance at the Marshall Tito Square entertaining the visitors with local and old-town songs. At noon, the May Day festivities moved to the Golden Cape (Zlatni rt) where all generations of Rovinj were traditionally enjoying the day. The hostess of the program, Vukica Palčić, organized various social and sporting events, while the Give Me Five and Batana bands were responsible for creating the musical atmosphere.

The May Day festivities were once again organized by the Rovinj branch of the Union of Autonomous Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH), under the auspices of the Town Authorities, and sponsored by the Tourist Association.
