Twelve samples of extra virgin olive oil

Within preparations for the season, the city Tourist Community has, in cooperation with Society "Agrorovinj", organized a promotion of Rovinj olive oils in restaurant “Perla”. At this occasion, twelve samples of extra virgin olive oil were promoted, which were awarded gold medal at this year’s festival "Antonja 2006".

“This is top quality oil with pronounced and desirable characteristics. The presented olive oils belong to a group of balanced and harmonious and of bitter and spicy. Savory taste is characteristic for ripe fruits and vegetables, green artichoke, tomato and banana, as well as for both ripe and green fruit” said Dr. Nada Franković, Secretary of Society of sensory analysts of olive oil from Buje and Croatian Society of towns of olives and extra virgin olive oil.

 

When speaking of the usage of olive oil, she stressed that there are still places where one cannot acquire quality oil, but also said that there is an increasing number of catering facilities with experts on their staff who can recommend to the guest which olive oil goes with which food.
