PRESENTATION OF ROVINJ WINES Quality Wines Offered for Tasting In cooperation with the Agrorovinj Association, the Tourist Association of Rovinj organized a well-visited presentation of wines from the Rovinj Region in the framework of the preparations for the upcoming tourist season. The presentation was organized at the Graciano Restaurant where the restaurateurs and hoteliers had an opportunity to taste three wines that were awarded silver medals at this year's Vinistra. We are referring to Malvasia wines produced by Damir Dobravac, Edo Babić and Davor Vivoda. Besides white wines, the guests also had an opportunity to try two Teran wines produced by Giansandro Rudan and Damir Dobravac, as well as an excellent Muskat wine produced by Giansandro Rudan.
The presentation of Rovinj wines was led by Nevio Pletikos, a somelier from Pula, who said that the citizens of Rovinj should be proud of their wine which is growing in quality all the time. The problem, however, lies in the fact that these wines are not often found in restaurants. We need to work very hard and try to change that.
„It’s not a problem to sell high quality wines, however the point is to help the ‘small’ producers who appear at wine festivals in greater numbers each year and whose wines are of unquestionable quality,” said Nevio Pletikos, a wine connoisseur, to the citizens of Rovinj. Graciano Švić, Chairman of the Craftsmen's Association of Rovinj, welcomed Pletikos’s statement regarding the need to promote local wines in hotel and restaurant facilities, while Dario Činić, Director of the Tourist Association of Rovinj, added that this presentation too is a small contribution to the effort to secure the ‘small’ producers their much-deserved place on the Rovinj wine chart. |
