COMPETITION ON THE BEST ARRANGED TOURIST CENTERS ON THE CROATIAN COAST

In category „Competition of towns“, Rovinj wins the gold Blue flower

Rovinj is the best arranged town on the Croatian coast, was unanimously concluded by a nine-member national commissioner in this year's action organized by the Croatian Tourist Board under the media auspices of Glas Istre, Jutarnji list, Novi list, Slobodna Dalmacija, Zadarski list and Hrvatski radio, which awards the best arranged towns, municipalities and settlements on the Croatian coast. Rovinj was awarded gold Blue flower, followed by Rab and Makarska, while Biograd na moru won a special award for the biggest progress made in arrangement of a tourist town.

According to a nine member commissioner, which was visiting tourist centers during the summer, in category of multiple criteria - arrangement of town entrance, impeccable landscaping, solved parking issue outside the old city and developed traffic signalization, Rovinj did not have any serious competitors and such obvious progress was made thanks to cooperation between Rovinj Tourist Board, communal company and the Town of Rovinj.

In category of municipalities, the first place was won by Baška Voda third year in row, silver Blue flower was awarded to Primošten, while the third place is shared by Vrsar and Baška on the island of Krk. In category of settlements, gold Blue flower was awarded to Mlini, the second place is shared by Promajna and Selce while settlement Jezera won the third place.

The awards and recognitions for this year's laureates in the Blue flower competition will be handed on 27 October in Cavtat during “Days of Croatian Tourism”.
