Summer Shower an Unexpected Guest at the Fishermen's Night
A strong summer shower accompanied with wind and lightning interrupted the fishermen's festivity organized for numerous locals and their guests by the Tourist Board, the Town and Maistra. In addition to the rich gastronomic offer, the fishermen's night featured traditional Mediterranean songs performed by the members of the Batana folk band, and the excellent male harmony singers called Sveti Petar, who had their debut.

Beside the food, beverage and music, the guests were offered two tourist attractions – demonstration of how a fishing net is patched up, and how a batana, an original Rovinj fishermen's vessel, is built.
Fisherman Giordano Banich was in charge of the net patching, which is very seldom seen in this modern age, while Mladen Takač, the renowned boat-builder, was entrusted with the construction of the vessel.
Unfortunately, the summer shower interrupted the festivity and forced the guests to seek shelter in indoor facilities.
