TRADITIONAL ROVINJ NIGTH FESTIVITIES HELD Thirty Thousand People Enjoyed the Starry Sky
The Rovinj Night Festivities have been organized by the Tourist Association of the City of Rovinj at the end of each August for almost forty years now. The main purpose of the Rovinj Night, the longest night in the year, is to thank the citizens of Rovinj and their guests for yet another successful season on behalf of all tourism workers.
Over the years, this unique night has grown into a several-day event, famous and recognizable across the Adriatic.
This year's Rovinj Night Festivities started with a concert organized on Assumption Day on the Red Island (Crveni otok). They continued with the opening ceremony of the retrospective exhibition by the bard of Rovinj painting, Bruno Mascarelli, and ended with the Radio Company Supercontatto Show.
Instead of at midnight, at which time the fireworks show was organized in the previous years, this year's fireworks show was organized an hour before midnight. Many people looked incredulously at the big city clock, assuming that it was running late, and not that the fireworks show was early. Nevertheless, this year's fireworks show did not leave the audience disappointed. It was a thirteen-minute dance of colorful stars, cascades and waterfalls that shone over the city like the Sun. Almost thirty thousand faces and eyes staring at the sky rewarded the workers of the Tourist Association, organizers of the famous Rovinj Night Festivities, with loud cheering and a grand applause.
