BAROQUE MUSIC FESTIVAL Fabio Accurso & Stefano Rocco Within the Baroque Music Festival, two lute-players Fabio Accurso and Stefan Rocco gave an impressive performance titled „Disordinati affetti“ in the Franciscan monastery.
The program of this music evening, which had attracted a large audience, included works by Francesco da Milano, Joana Ambrosie Dalzo, Alessandro Piccinini, Francesco Corbett, John Dowland, Giovanni Antonio Terzio, Girolamo Ferruti, Claudie Monteverdi, Diego Ortiz and several anonymous authors from the sixteen century.
Italian musicians, well-known and excellent lute-players graduated from the music conservatory. In addition to lutes, they presented themselves with various instruments from the lute family – theorbo, chitaronne and baroque guitar and performed music in rhythms of Sara Banda, saltarella, ciacona, passacaglia...
The music audience welcomed the opportunity to listen to the magical sounds of lute. It is a well known fact that during renaissance and part of baroque, lute was an inevitable musical instrument which was also called the queen of instruments, since the instrumental music of that time was unimaginable without it.
The program performed by music duo Accurso & Rocco included compositions with virtuoso elements, succeeding in also conjuring up the richness of tones of various instruments from this instrument family.
These great lute-players, who performed compositions of intimate character, besides performing as a duo, are also playing for several recognized ensembles specialized in performing ancient music. Also, Fabio Accurso and Stefano Rocco have played at significant European and global festivals, which is why their Rovinj performance was a true music treat, especially for the fans of the renaissance.
