THIS YEAR'S LAST TOURIST MANIFESTATION - «Bread, Olive Oil, Wine, Fish, and... Games»

At the beginning of November – one of the coldest months of the year, the last of this year's tourist manifestations was held on the city of Rovinj's waterfront, named «Bread, Olive Oil, Wine, Fish, and... Games».

ROVINJ HELD ITS FIRST FESTIVAL OF DELICACIES - A Culinary Show featuring Famous People and Civil Servants

„For the second year in a row, Rovinj has been declared the cleanest city along the Adriatic coast. It is also the recipient of a silver Tourist Flower and three Maistra hotels – „Park“, „Eden“ and „Istra“ on Crveni Otok (Red Island), have been given flattering titles.

CELEBRATING WORLD TOURISM DAY - Largest Istrian Crostata – A gift for the guests and citizens of Rovinj

The Tourist Board handed out over eight hundred cakes and one thousand crepes filled with fig marmalade to the citizens and guests of Rovinj in order to celebrate World Tourism Day in the sweetest of ways.

Rovinj residents take pride in the fact that for the second year in a row, their town was voted the best decorated on the Adriatic.

ROVINJ HOSTS THE 1st INTERNATIONAL CHOIR MUSIC FESTIVAL

The town of St. Euphemia hosted the First International Choir Music Festival, featuring for the people of Rovinj and the guests the Children's Choir Trantičice of Rijeka, the City Choir Brodosplit of Split, the Chamber Choir AVE of Ljubljana, the Academic Choir Ivan Goran Kovačić of Zagreb, and the Vocal Ensemble Ars Nova of Hungary, in addition to the local chamber choir Rubino.

ISTRIAN TOURIST CENTRES VERY SUCCESSFUL IN ACTIVITY »PLAVI CVIJET« (BLUE FLOWER) - Gold for Rovinj and Rabac, silver for Vrsar

Soulfingers and Le mond for Town’s Day and St. Fuma

Many sports manifestations were held at the occasion of celebrating Town’s Day and St. Euphemia. Over 900 participants competed in 18 sport disciplines and cultural-entertaining program was organized as well.

„From cape to cape – by sea and land“

At the occasion of celebrating 16th September – Town’s Day and St. Euphemia’s Day, marathon “From cape to cape – by sea and land” was held, organized for the first time by the Sports Association and under the sponsorship of the Rovinj Tourist Board.

12th summer festival ended - Beethoven as the biggest gift

The 12th Rovinj Summer Festival, which this year included twelve excellent concerts, was finalized with a performance by wind-instrument ensemble „Gruppo Fiati Musica Aperta“, conducted by maestro Pieralberto Cattaneo.

Rovinj held its 15th Sprint Triathlon

In celebration of St. Euphemia and the Day of the City, which takes place on September 16th, the fifteenth consecutive Sprint Triathlon was held in Rovinj. Fifty-two athletes from Slovenia, Italy and Croatia participated in the triathlon organized by ‘Triathlon Club Rovinj’ in association with the Croatian Triathlon Federation.

BAROQUE MUSIC FESTIVAL - Fabio Accurso & Stefano Rocco

Within the Baroque Music Festival, two lute-players Fabio Accurso and Stefan Rocco gave an impressive performance titled „Disordinati affetti“ in the Franciscan monastery.

WITHIN MUNDIAL PHOTO-FESTIVAL „ROVINJ 2007 ROVIGNO“ - „Impressions“ by Carlo Diana

Exhibition of photographs by the Belgian author Carlo Diana was opened in the Center of Visual Arts „Batana“. Exhibition titled „Impressions“ was opened by Director of CVA „Batana“ Virgilio Giuricin, and it includes some sixty retrospective photographs taken between late 70tees until the present day.

BAROQUE MUSIC FESTIVAL - Concert by ensemble „I Fiori musicali“

Within the Baroque Music Festival, the church of Sv. Franje (St. Francis) was the host of the concert by ensemble „I Fiori musicali“, comprised of musicians from different parts of the world who were brought together by similar affinities towards musical expression.

The program of Rovinj Baroque Music Festival continued with an exclusive performance by charismatic Croatian violoncellist Stjepan Hauser.

WITHIN THE ROVINJ NIGHT - Concert by Clive Caroll, Damir Halilić and Meri Trošelj

An excellent concert was held within Rovinj night on rock Balota in front of large audience, mostly jazz and blues fans.

BAROQUE MUSIC FESTIVAL ROVINJ 2007 HAS BEGUN - Following the Trails of Venice - Orme della Serenissima

Soprano singer Angelo Manzotti and his rendition of Farinelli’s arias opened the Baroque Music Festival Rovinj 2007 which is taking place under the title «Following the Trails of Venice - Orme della Serenissima».

RADIO COMPANY IN ROVINJ FOR THE SIXTH TIME

The most listened to radio station in Italy, Radio Company, was a guest of Rovinj's central square, Trg Maršala Tita, for the sixth time.

RONALD BRAUS AND GUESTS CONCERT FOR 7th TIME IN A ROW

St. Andrew’s Island hosted this year for the seventh time in a row the traditional Ronald Braus and Guests summer concert. This year’s special guest, besides soprano Lidija Horvat Dunjko, was Slovene singer Elda Viler.

93rd BARON GAUTSCH SHIPWRECK ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

On August 13, the anniversary of the shipwreck and sinking of the Austro-Hungarian steamship named Baron Gautsch, the employees of the Tourist Association of Rovinj and members of the Diver Sport Center from Rovinj and the Rovinj Undewater Activities Club laid wreaths at the site of the sinking of the unfortunate ship and over its wreck.

THE BIGGEST EXHIBITION IN THE OPEN ON THE MEDITERRANEAN - Rovinj's Grisia celebrated its 40th jubilee

Furthermore, this year Grisija will be remembered for the biggest number of exhibitionists. In total 330 participants of the most wonderful one-day exhibition exposed their works – paintings, installations, sculptures, every-day items, aesthetic items, jewellery, painted clothes, silk scarps and others.

NEW MANIFESTATION IN THE ROVINJ’S TOURIST EVENTS CALENDAR - The Night of Saint Lawrence

From this year on, within the calendar of new tourist events there is an event called “The Night of Saint Lawrence”. Employees of the Tourist Community imagined it as a night with candles, gentle music and romantic atmosphere.

AUSTRIAN BRASS QUINTET CONCERT

Austrian Brass Quintet, founded in 1989. by the musicians from Koruska, held a concert in St Euphemia's Church.

NIGHT SWIMMING WITH A TOUCH OF ROCK AND ROLL

Complementing the pleasant temperature of the sea, the real refreshment at the Balouta beach, turned this year into the first nighttime swimming area, was provided by the members of Dream Project, a local band.

The second EVENINIG OF THE KULTFEST - „Sierra Maestra“Presented Traditional Cuban Music

On the second evening of the sixth in succession Kultfest, nine musicians of Havana’s “Sierra Maestra” presented themselves to the Rovinj’s audience.

6th KULTFEST - Livio Morosin Band and Frititi from Ghana

For the sixth year in a row, Marshall Tito Square was a grand stage on which the Rovinj Kultfest, a festival of various cultures, was held. Each year, festival organizer Ivor Zidarić brings together musicians from all over the world to present their respective countries through music and dance.

MEETING 40TH GRISIJA – THE EXHIBITION OF FINE ARTS IN THE OPEN - The retrospective exhibition dedicated to the most wonderful one-day manifestation on the Mediterranean

On the occasion of celebrating the 40th anniversary of foundation and duration of Grisia, the biggest and most wonderful one-day exhibition in the open, which occurs for last forty years on every second Sunday in August in the Rovinj’s street Grisia, the retrospective exhibition “Grisia 1967-2007” was organised.

ROVINJ SUMMER FESTIVAL - Attractive Performance by Katja Markotić and the Dubrovnik Guitar Trio

As part of the Rovinj Summer Festival, organized every year for the past twelve seasons, both the local and the international audience had the opportunity to attend a concert performed by the Dubrovnik Guitar Trio and mezzo-soprano Katja Markotić.

A BRAVURA GUITAR VIRTUOSO CONCERT - Vlatko Stefanovski and Miroslav Tadić Dazzled the People of Rovinj

For the third year in a row, the Monte summer stage hosted the guitar virtuoso concert performed by Vlatko Stefanovski and Miroslav Tadić.

ROVINJ SUMMER FESTIVAL - A Musical Stroll through the Italian Vocal Lyric

As part of the Rovinj Summer Festival, a concert by baritone Ronald Braus and pianist Albert Frka was held in the crowded Church of St. Francis. The first part of the concert was dedicated to Italian composers Alessandro Scarlatti and his son Domenico (the 250th anniversary of his death is celebrated this year).

OPENED THE 54TH ART COLONY ROVINJ - The first prize presented to Igor Grubić

In the Town Rovinj's Country Museum, the 54th Art Colony Rovinj has been opened for the visitors until 19th of August. This is the joint exhibition of various authors – painters, sculptors, photographers, established back in 1953 by artists gathered around the „Valdibora“group.

ROVINJ GOT THE NIGHT BATHING PLACE - Bathing under reflectors

Aiming to enrich this year tourist offer, the Town and Tourist Community for the first time organised a night bathing on the town's beach Balota, below the Monte.

The Tuba Quartet „XL“

The Tuba Quartet “XL”, the only chamber ensemble of the kind in this area, comprised of Zagreb's brass musicians – Viktor Kirčenkov, Mario Šincek, Josip Kapović and Krunoslav Babbić, held a concert within the cultural summer programme in Rovinj.

THE BOBAN AND MARKO MARKOVIC ORCHESTRA

The Boban and Marko Marković Orchestra, the best Romani orchestra from the south of Serbia and one of the best brass ensembles in the Balkans, performed live on the Monte summer stage in Rovinj.

Gato Thrills the Audience Once Again

At the excellent concert performance by Sergio Preden Gato and the Riccardo Bosazzi Quartet, both the local and the international audience had an opportunity to see who Rovinj people are, what they are like, what their thoughts are and what kind of lyrics they set to music.

About Three Hundred Divers Participated in the Cleaning of the Seabed in the Rovinj Area

After numerous eco-actions that have been taking place on land during the last few weeks, the Tourist Association in cooperation with the Diver Sport Center Rovinj, the Rovinj of Underwater Activities and the Croatian Diving Association organized a big cleaning action in order to clean up the seabed in the Rovinj area.

THE THIRD INTERNATIONAL SEMI-MARATHON HELD WITHIN „POPOLANA“

Within the third and the last day of sports manifestation „Popolana“ the third in a row international Rovinj semi-marathon was held, in which sixty competitors from seven European countries participated - Italy, Austria, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Hungary and Croatia.

THE 23rd REGATTA ‘ROVINJ -PESARO- ROVINJ’

For the twenty-first time in a row, from April 26th to 29th, the traditional regatta ‘Rovinj- Pesaro- Rovinj’ took place.

OLIVER DELIGHTED THE RESIDENTS OF ROVINJ

Fully packed central town square and the waterfront, at which almost five thousand visitors were signing and dancing to the rhythm of music at the concert by Oliver Dragojević, was the pinnacle of a three-day sports-entertainment events of the newly inaugurated manifestation „Popolana“.

POPOLANA 2007 - MARATHON RUNNER MIRJANA KMAČIĆ PELLIZZER COMPLETED MUGGIA – ROVINJ TRACK

The best known marathon runner in the history of Rovinj, Mirjana Kmačić Pellizzer, honoring the sports manifestation „Popolana 2007“, completed a 100 km long marathon from Muggia to Rovinj.

The second day of „Popolana“ was filled with sporting events. Competition in sports climbing on an artificial rock, organized by club „Muntravo“ had attracted over eighty trained competitors, but also a large number of guests and citizens.

Rovinj's Drum Majorettes celebrated the ten-year anniversary of their establishment and existence in the best possible way, by putting on a performance on the city's central square.

Tourist Board Handed Out 1500 Flower Seedlings

After they handing out four thousand young rose hip shoots, jujube and fig tree seedlings back in March of this year, the Tourist Board once again decided to make the citizens of Rovinj happy by handing out several different types of flower seedlings as well.

On Easter Saturday, Rovinj locals and guests visited old town and the most beautiful woods park Zlatni rt (golden cape).

Tourist Board Gives Out Rose Hip, Jujube and Fig Shoots

Last Saturday in March, employees of the Rovinj Town Tourist Board gave away around five hundred seedlings of autochthonous fruit varieties.
