Livia Babić donated beautiful Batana to Director of the Tourist Board

Rovinj residents take pride in the fact that for the second year in a row, their town was voted the best decorated on the Adriatic. Profession has awarded this flattering title to Rovinj, i.e. the members of the „Blue flower“ activity commissioner, which is implemented by the Croatian Tourist Board in cooperation with media sponsors Glas Istre, Jutarnji list, Novi list, Slobodna Dalmacija, Zadarski list and Croatian Radio. In addition to the title of the best decorated town in the Croatian part of the Adriatic, Rovinj was awarded for the best tourist product - project „House about Batana“.

Reception of these valuable awards initiated painter Livija Babić, to a selfless gesture. She donated her own painting with Batana motif to Director of the Tourist Board, Odeta Sapač, which as we have learned will be placed in the Tourist Board. “Batana is a symbol of Rovinj and an autochthon vessel of Rovinj fishermen. I am happy and pleased that the Town and the Tourist Board have recognized its significance and value and have decided to touristically valuate it through various manifestations and to present to local and global public project „Houses about Batana“, said painter Babić, who until now has made twenty eight paintings of batanas, in oil on canvas in honor of this small, but for Rovinj residents large fishing vessel.
