ORGANIZED ARRANGING AND FORESTING OF COASTAL REGION AND SPORTING GROUNDS WAS A SUCCESS

For a number of years during preparation for the high season the Town Tourist Board has been organizing cleaning, decorating and environment protection events.

This year's event is taking place under the slogan Glanc, glanc, luštro, čisto, ma će biti lipo misto, and was held at several locations.

Next to professional and amateur athletes many representatives of the town authorities and tourism business participated, together with the members of the Fire Department, Port Authority and Public Utility.

In one of the most beautiful coastal areas surrounding Rovinj, Kuvi, sixty pine trees were planted. Several groups of forest gardeners were led by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Rovinj, Giovanni Sponza and Marino Budicin, and Odete Sapač, Manageress of the Tourist Board.

Simultaneously with the foresting of the coastal region, young sportsmen and sportswomen worked on their sporting grounds. Basketball players cleaned the area near the Eden Hotel and handball courts located close to a former railway station were arranged by their peers from the men and women's volleyball team of Rovinj.

All participants were given T-shirts with printed slogans and illustrations made by an academic painter from Pula Vanja Popek them as a gift.
