TOURIST BOARD DONATED COLORING BOOKS, TREES AND FLOWERS TO ROVINJ'S CHILDREN

- To make the citizens of Rovinj appreciate nature and take care of the environment we have decided to teach them directly by organizing ecological actions.

Tourist Board employees visit pre-school institutions and children’s playgrounds every year and plant trees and flowers with help from Communal Service employees.

This year children's oases are the playgrounds of the "Neven” and “Naridola” Kindergarten and Nursery Schools as well as green areas in their regional institutions in Mondelac, Valbruna and Rovinjsko Selo. They were all embellished with beautiful chestnut and hackberry tree seedlings and white, red and pink begonias - commented Odete Sapač, Manageress of the Tourist Board, emphasizing that this action was dedicated to the youngest and children, future promoters and activists who will support healthy, clean and more beautiful environment.

Apart from trees and flowers, Tourist Board representatives accompanied by Communal Service and Town Authority employees and led by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor Giovanni Sponza and Marino Budicin distributed eco coloring books to the youngest.

Almost 600 coloring books were provided by the Tourist Board and the same was done by Communal Service employees.

Thanks to presents all children went home to their parents richer by two new books which, through imaginative and attractive illustrations, promote Rovinj and its natural and historic attractions and their beauty.

“Naridola”’s Secretary, Patrizia Martinčić, had a similar comment adding that pre-school institutions, in addition to teaching role, have an important role in education and that includes responsibility toward the environment.

The Manageress of the Tourist Board gave gifts and eco T-shirts to all teachers.

- This is so great and I am very happy and can't wait to go home and play with my new coloring books. But my colored pencils are dull so my dad will have to sharpen them first. One day, when it's sunny and warm, I will go and plant some flowers with my teachers. I am very happy- commented six-year-old Luka Majher from “Neven”.

Positive comments came from all representatives of Rovinj's kindergartens. “Neven”'s Principal, Sandra Orbanić, told us events like this are most welcome because real examples like planting and taking care of plants show children how to save and take care of the environment.
