Travel documents: to enter Croatia
foreign tourists must produce either a valid passaport or some
other document confirmed valid for such purposses by international
agreement.
The citizens of the Republic of Slovenia may enter provided with a valid
identity card only. A foreign citizen without a valid passaport, coming
to Croatia on holidays or for business, will be issued free border passes
(permits) on the basis of their identification documents by the border
police. The border pass is valid three months.
WHAT CAN BE TAKEN OUT OF CROATIA
Without a customs declaration a foreign national may take
out of Croatia only goods purchased for personal use. Objects
of archaeological, historic, ethnographic and scientific value,
and works of art can be taken out of the country only with the
permission of the appropriate Government bodies.
MONEY MATTERS
The official currency in Croatia is HRVATSKA KUNA
( HRK ) . Besides payment in cash, kunas, foreign visitors can
use CREDIT CARDS, TRAVELERS CHEQUES, AND EUROC'HEQUES ( can be exchanged
into kunas in exchange offices ); BANKER'S C'HEQUES and PRIVATE C'HEQUES
that can be exchanged into kunas in Croatian banks.
Foreign currency can only be exchanged in exchange offices, banks, hotels
and agencies
