AT SEA
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR BOAT OWNERS
The use of motor boats and speedboats less than
300 metres from the coast is forbidden!
Watch
out for bathers and swimmers. Violation of this regulation can
lead to fatal accidents.
Enquire
about weather conditions every time before setting sail.
If the weather forecast is unfavourable, stay ashore.
Do
not set sail without a suitably - sized anchor with a
line at least 50 metres long.
If
you prick yourself on a fish, immediately squeeze the
blood out of the wound and keep it immersed in hot water.
Seek medical aid as soon as possible.
Deplation
of date - shells is banned in Croatia.!

SAILING PERMITS
All
yachtmen are required to obtain a permit from the Rovinj Harbourmaster's
Office (Lučka kapetanija), tel. 811-132.
The
permit is issued on the first arrival by sea or by land.
The
permit is valid one year
No
permit is necessary for inflatable dinghies up to 3 metres
long and engine up to 4 ps.
Excursions by boat
Excursions
by boat cover the Rovinj archipelago, Lim fjord, to PoreË and
Briuni Island and Pula.
Boat
fares must be kept at a visible place with the description
of the excursion.
Tickets
fot the excursions are sold at tourist agencies and on
boats.
Smaller
vessels may be rented with or without skipper according
to the price list.
Catering
service, if available on board the boat, must be specified
in the price - list.

DIVING

Permit
is necessary for scuba diving with "carnet" (diving certificate)
submitted beforehand. Permit costs 100 kunas.
Diving
is allowed all year round from sunrise to sunset. Divers are allowed
to take photographs but must not remove anything from the seabed.
DIVING
IS FORBIDDEN IN HARBORS, ON NAVIGATION ROUTES AND IN
THE "BARON GAUTCH" WRECK AREA, 500 METRES IN
DIAMETER.
